    AB CarVal Investors is an alternative asset manager with USD 17 billion in assets under management.

  • Papapolitis & Papapolitis Advises Lamda Development on Corporate Transformation

    Papapolitis & Papapolitis has advised Lamda Development on the corporate transformation of its shopping malls sector.

    According to Papapolitis & Papapolitis, the change was “implemented through a series of corporate transformations resulting in the concentration all four existing shopping centers owned by the Lamda Group – The Mall Athens, Golden Hall, Mediterranean Cosmos, and Designer Outlet – and those to be built in the Ellinikon – Vouliagmenis Mall and Riviera Galleria – under one distinct vehicle.”

    Lamda Development, listed on the main market of the Athens Exchange, is a holding company specializing in real estate development, investment, and management. It focuses on the shopping center, office space, and residential sectors.

  • Kyriakides Georgopoulos and Zepos & Yannopoulos Advise on Lightsource BP Sale of 180-Megawatt PV Portfolio to Helleniq Renewables

    Kyriakides Georgopoulos has advised Lightsource BP on its agreement with Helleniq Renewables for the sale of a 180-megawatt PV portfolio in the region of Kozani. Zepos & Yannopoulos advised Helleniq Renewables.

    Lightsource BP is an international solar power developer and operator, focusing on creating low-carbon solar energy projects while boosting biodiversity. It is a subsidiary of British Petroleum.

    Helleniq Renewables is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Helleniq Energy, an oil company active in Southeast Europe with activities spanning across the energy value chain and a presence in 6 countries.

    Back in 2021, Kyriakides Georgopoulos advised Lightsource BP on the acquisition of a 200-megawatt photovoltaics portfolio from Greek renewable energy developer Kiefer Tek (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on September 28, 2021).

    Papapolitis & Papapolitis has advised Taconic Capital Advisors and Cedar Capital Partners on their joint venture with CBE Capital and Golden Land Goutos for the development of a Six Senses Resort in the area of Porto Heli, Greece.

    Taconic Capital is an alternative investment manager.

    Cedar Capital Partners, a real estate investment firm headquartered in London, invests primarily in the hospitality sector.

    CBE Capital is an independent London-based real assets merchant banking firm.

    Golden Land Goutos is a Greek real estate company specializing in premium properties.

  • Bahas Gramatidis & Partners Advises Enel on Sale of 50% Stake in Enel Green Power Hellas to MAM

    Bahas Gramatidis & Partners, working with Gianni & Origoni, has advised Enel SpA on the sale of a 50% stake in its wholly-owned subsidiary Enel Green Power Hellas to Macquarie Asset Management for approximately EUR 345 million. The Koutalidis law firm, working with Jones Day, reportedly advised MAM.

    According to the company’s press statement, Enel Green Power Hellas operates 59 plants totaling 482 megawatts of installed capacity powered by wind, solar, and hydro, as well as six solar projects under construction for an overall capacity of 84 megawatts. EGPH is also developing a portfolio of wind and solar projects, and expanding its activities in innovative solutions such as storage and hybrid projects.

    According to Bahas Gramatidis & Partners, the total enterprise value of EGPH was approximately EUR 980 million for the purposes of the transaction.

    Macquarie Asset Management is a global infrastructure investor with assets under management of almost EUR 500 billion.

    Enel SpA is an Italian multinational producer and distributor of electricity and gas.

    Papapolitis & Papapolitis has advised Intracom Holdings and Intracom Technologies on their sale of a 90.91% stake in Intracom Defense to Israel Aerospace Industries.

    ATHEX-listed conglomerate Intracom Holdings specializes in IT solutions and services, defense electronics systems, construction, real estate, and renewable energy.

    Intracom Defense describes itself as “Greece’s leading manufacturer of electronic and communication products, systems, and applications in the defense and security area,” and “focuses primarily on the armament programs of Greek and foreign defense ministries and NATO.”

    Israel Aerospace Industries is an aerospace and defense company specializing in developing and manufacturing systems for air, space, sea, land, cyber, and homeland security.

    Back in May, Papapolitis & Papapolitis also advised Intracom Holdings subsidiary Intracom Properties on its EUR 18.74 million acquisition of a stake in KLM S.A. from the Lappas family (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on May 24, 2023).

  • Koutalidis Advises Aktor Concessions and Intrakat on PPP Project Financing for West Peloponnese Road

    The Koutalidis law firm has advised sponsors Aktor Concessions and Intrakat on the PPP project financing for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the West Peloponnese Kalamata-Rizomylos-Pylos-Methoni road.

    According to Koutalidis, the project will be funded by way of a common secured bond loan of up to EUR 216 million, subscribed for by Alpha Bank, the National Bank of Greece, and Eurobank.

    Koutalidis has advised Everty on its acquisition of two logistics centers with a total gross leasable area of approximately 33,000 square meters located in the Aspropyrgos area.

    Everty is part of the YNV group, a multinational company operating five brands across three sectors: technology, education, and real estate.

    According to Koutalidis, this latest acquisition further enhances “Everty’s dynamic international investment portfolio and expands its presence in the Greek real estate market.”

  • KLC Advises Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund on Philippos II Port Tender Review

    The KLC law firm has advised the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund on the Court of Auditors’ pre-contractual review of the tender and contract for the sub-concession of a multi-purpose terminal within the Philippos II port.

    According to KLC, that particular multi-purpose terminal is currently being operated by the Kavala Port Authority. The sub-concession will include the right to use, maintain, operate, and exploit the terminal within the Philippos II port.

  • Zepos & Yannopoulos Advises Nabtesco on Acquisition of DeepSea Technologies

    Zepos & Yannopoulos, working with Cyprus’ Tassos Papadopoulos and Associates, has advised the Nabtesco Corporation on its acquisition of maritime technology start-up DeepSea Technologies.

    DeepSea has offices in Cyprus and headquarters in Athens. It focuses on vessel performance monitoring and AI optimization.

    The Nabtesco Corporation is a Japanese engineering company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It specializes in gearboxes, rail and aviation automation, and industrial robotics.

    According to Zepos & Yannopoulos, the acquisition “will support Nabtesco’s move towards the development of autonomous vessels and other AI applications in its business sectors.”

    Back in 2021, Zepos & Yannopoulos had also advised Nabtesco’s technology venture capital fund on leading a EUR 5 million investment round into DeepSea Technologies (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on September 17, 2021).
