  • Ukrainian Bar Association

    Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) — All-Ukrainian non-governmental organization, founded in 2002 to bring together lawyers for a strong and influential professional community and stand as a powerful voice of the legal profession of our country.

    By this time the UBA managed to unite over five thousand lawyers throughout Ukraine including the candidate members of the UBA League of Students that joins together more than fifty educational institutions of Ukraine. 

    Along with the common goal of implementing the Rule of Law, increasing legal awareness and legal culture in society, the Ukrainian Bar Association is committed to the development of the legal profession, improvement of legislation, implementation of ethical standards in provision of legal services, protection of professional rights of the UBA members and human rights in general.

    The activities of the UBA are fully based upon personal initiative and commitment of its members. After thirteen years of dedicated work we remain the most dynamic and active organization of lawyers in Ukraine, we expand our activities abroad and take a proactive stance on many issues of legal life in Ukraine.

    The priorities of the Ukrainian Bar Association are as follows:

    • Establishment of strong and powerful Bar in Ukraine;
    • Promotion of effective judicial reform;
    • Provision of pro bono legal aid to the victims of military actions in Eastern Ukraine;
    • Development of international co-operation with the legal institutions throughout the world, holding conferences and forums;
    • Supporting and extending the UBA activities in different regions of Ukraine;
    • Monitoring the current draft laws and elaboration of proposals on improvement of current legislation of Ukraine;
    • Protecting the professional rights of the UBA members and monitoring the human rights enforcement;
    • Providing response to high-profile events in the legal community of our country.

    Ukrainian Bar Association since 2006 is a member of the International Bar Association (UBA), we maintain close relations with the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and the American Bar Association (ABA).
