Did You Know that, according to the Activity Rankings function of the CEELMDirect website, a total of 12 lawyers in CEE reported working on four or more client matters in the first quarter of 2023?

That group of 12 is led by NKO Partners’ Founding Partner Djordje Nikolic in Belgrade and Tytus Cytowski, the founding partner of Cytowski & Partners, both of whom have reported working on an impressive seven deals since January 1st of this year. Three lawyers – Aksan Partner Alper Onar and Turunc Partner Kerem Turunc, both in Istanbul, and Tomasz Rogalski of Norton Rose Fulbright in Warsaw – worked on six client matters reported in Q1 of 2023, while Izabela Zielinska-Barlozek of Wardynski & Partners in Poznan and Warsaw and Milos Felgr of Clifford Chance in Prague both worked on five.

Rounding out the leaderboard are Andrzej Stosio of Clifford Chance Warsaw, Boris Teknedzhiev of Tokushev & Partners in Sofia, Mihaela Nyerges of Nyerges & Partners in Bucharest, and Orhan Erdem of Bagzibagli Erdem & Sahin and Yasemin Erden of Turunc, both in Istanbul, all of whom have worked on four clients matters since January 1, 2023. Another 19 lawyers reported working on three client matters in Q1 of 2023.

Clifford Chance Warsaw Partner Pawel Puacz has worked on an impressive eight Energy/Natural Resources client matters in that time, while his colleague, Clifford Chance Partner Andrzej Stosio, has worked on six – as have Rymarz Zdort Maruta Partner Marek Durski and Norton Rose Fulbright Partner Tomasz Rogalski. Lambadarios Law Firm Partners Constantinos Lambadarios and Melina Katsimi, Schoenherr Romania Partners Georgiana Badescu and Monica Cojocaru, Norton Rose Fulbright Partner Grzegorz Dyczkowski, CMS Sofia’s Managing Partner Kostadin Sirleshtov, and Nyerges & Partners’ Managing Partner Mihaela Nyerges have all worked on four.

Another 16 lawyers reported working on three Energy/Natural Resources deals in CEE in the past year, with nobody else working on more than two.

DTB Senior Partner Damir Topic and Partners Tarja Krehic and Ivan Zornada of Krehic & Partners have all worked on three in that time, leading the pack.

In an eight-way tie for tenth place, Costin Taracila of RTPR, Cristina Man of Stratulat Albulescu, Damir Topic of Croatia’s DTB, Igor Zivkovski of Serbia’s Zivkovic Samardzic, Krzysztof Marczuk of Poland’s Gessel, Martin Krejci of Czechia’s Kocian Solc Balastik, Monika Kierepa of Poland’s Rymarz Zdort Maruta, and Szymon Syp of SSK&W all worked on seven reported client matters over the past 12 months.

Cobalt, Kinstellar, and Kocian Solc Balastik – the only national champion on the list – each worked on five client matters reported by CEELM in January.
