  • Important Update: Dealer’s Choice Summit and 2020 CEE Deal of the Year Banquet

In light of the growing coronavirus crisis, the 2020 Dealer’s Choice International Law Firm Summit and CEE Deal of the Year Awards Banquet, originally scheduled for April 23, 2020, in London, have been postponed.

We are working with stakeholders to find a workable date in mid-September or early October, and of course, we will be passing that date and other details along as soon as we have them.

The 2019 CEE Deal of the Year Award winners will be announced on the CEE Legal Matters website, as scheduled, on April 24, 2020, although for the time being no tombstones will be made available to the winners.

Already purchased tickets will naturally be valid for the later date but you can contact CEE Legal Matters at press@ceelm.com to arrange for refunds as well.

More information will be available here and on the CEE Dealer’s Choice website as soon as it is available. Questions should be directed to CEE Legal Matters at press@ceelm.com.

We hope all of our readers will stay healthy and safe in the weeks and months to come, and we look forward to hosting the largest annual celebration of CEE lawyering in the fall.

The “Let’s Say It’s an Orthodox Christmas Gift” Issue of CEELM is Out Now!

Here it is! The January 2020 issue of the CEE Legal Matters magazine, specially-delayed in honor of all of our friends celebrating Orthodox Christmas!

Because make no mistake, the appearance of this issue a week later than normal is absolutely purposeful, and has nothing to do with Santa being extra generous to us this year, bringing not only presents, guests, cookies, but also a nasty flu. Perish the thought!

The fact that subscribers to the CEE Legal Matters magazine can access the electronic issue here, now, and not a week ago, is 100% strategic, and certainly has nothing to do with us being laid up for the past week, sick, sniffling, and begging for the sweet, sweet release of death. That much is clear.

Either way, though — whether subscribers accept our impeachable representations of higher planning or find themselves unable to resist their more cynical impulses to question our sincerity in this manner — they will find, in this issue:

to forget to submit, as a mistake is the worst

The 13th of Jan is the day that chance will expire

after that might as well put the notes in the fire

Then hanging o’erhead like Damocles’ sword

Is the deadline for this year’s DOTY award

Want to submit? — for three weeks you can

The deadline for that is the 17th of Jan
